Ethics and rationality
If we consider that ethics and rationality are what really matters, we must accept that any impediments to independent thinking are of a pernicious nature. Religion, patriotism, and ideology, the major sources of dogma, are made of preconceived concepts and ideas which, if ingrafted into the minds of people, will impose, in the decision-making process, a bias that may counterbalance the urge for ethics and rationality.
